chiana_pip's playground

Welcome to my playground! This place is inspired by Chiana from the series Farscape. When first created, Gigi Edgley's awesome Chiana was probably the most dramaticly evocative and distinctively alien character since Nimoy's genre definitive Spock, and she had unlimited emotional accessability and innate sex appeal to top it off. Right from the start, Chiana inspired my muse to come out of hiding. My muse, in turn makes me create with word and image.

I've done many things from soldier to mercy aid. It might sound odd, but in my soul, there's an element that's found itself closest to contentment in creating the little things you'll find here. It's slow going because I'm a fussy, slow writer. And I have a somewhat twisted muse heh heh -May these little odd creations do something for you in some way.

Right now there's adult audience stories, adult and general audience poems and even some general audience manips for a sideline. Just heed the warnings if you're easily offended or under age 18. Adult stuff is clearly noted so there's no trouble at this site tripod is so kindly hosting.

Story/fanfic wise, there's the recently completed unconventional epic Destination Unclear that's got allot to it, and Burn Up, another novel adult fic you're invited to take in as far as it's done to date.

There's a Chi inspired poem of sorts I call QUIET, another best described as Aeryn Got It All, kinda angsty Think that's Hell, and a two word per line poem called Why Not. Latest poem is and her.

Hey up, Gigi Edgley, who you should know plays Chiana, has also made a CD Single. Called "Poison." She sings. Check it out and get a copy here. Or download it here. Cool arty piece. Got to plug her, she's a sweetheart, people. Who happens to be very creative on many levels.

Farscape was cancelled before completion. But thanks in part to viewer feedback, a miniseries was made! Farscape: PeaceKeeper Wars is a 4 hour mini that "ties up" some loose threads in Farscape. I gather the theory around is that the mini will be a way to allow them to relaunch Farscape on a new outlet like another network or as movies. Whatever the case, Chiana offers any new show profound values, so I hope she'll be a major part of whatever happens.

It ain't news but I got to rant. Chiana was the richest and most distinct character in a show full of the best there is. Yet for a majority of Farscape, only Gigi Edgley seemed to be trying any too hard to make the most (or the best) of Chiana. Even in the mini her treatment was scant and far from ideal, starting with "I got new eyes!" (both the insipid, Chiana-as-airhead treatment and misguidedly providing proof no one needed that her big black eyes really were irreplaceable). It should have been obvious that making better use of Chiana would have made Farscape even greater creatively. There were signs that better Chiana could have made Farscape more successful commercially as well. Those signs probably went unnoticed due to the overwhelming presence of another pre-existing segment of the audience (which essentially became the "core" fandom). Still, hell of a thing to leave to "oh well". I'm happy and proud Farscape may continue anyway. I'll still be saddened beyond words if it's all going to end leaving Chiana all but wasted. If this is the end, its a crime. I hope that somehow there's more and better Chiana coverage ahead.

Farscape was creatively superior to most anything ever on TV and it should still be continued. For help in helping Farscape's future, you can see the Save Farscape Website for contact info and other ideas you may look into. And you can buy the Farscape: PeaceKeeper Wars DVD from Lion's Gate Home Video in the USA and Contender Video in region 2. From some of the things they were paying attention to (....) there is some awesome stuff in the show, so, dig it.

Hope this finds you in peace and well being. Enjoy and feel free to email. Hang in there and please come by soon.
